John, Paul, George and Ringo, the four 10)members of the band, brought a new and exciting form of rock and roll to America, and the world.
9) invasion (n.) 入侵The United States' invasion of Iraq(伊拉克) began in 2003.
10) member (n.) 成員Our team has 25 members.

4.Like Elvis before them, The Beatles were considered rebellious by some of the older 11)generation, and young people were often 12)discouraged by their parents from listening to The Beatles and other rock-and-roll groups. Some people started to say “n” instead of “and,” and “rock ’n’ roll” became a common phrase to 13)describe music by rock-and-roll groups and artists of the 1950s, 1960s and on.

5.Rock and roll had started as a music that many saw as rebellious, but as the children of the 50s and 60s became 14)adults in the 80s, rock ’n’ roll was no longer so discouraged. Instead, the parents would often 15)encourage their children to listen to artists like Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, and Little Richard, or groups like The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and The Rolling Stones. As a result of this change of opinion in society, rock ’n’ roll became one of the most popular music styles with fans of all ages.

16) majority (n.) 多數The majority of people don't smoke.
17) appeal to 吸引Does this type of movie appeal to you?
6.Michael Jackson has often used rock-and-roll music in some of his songs, so many people say that he is not just a pop star, but a pop-rock star as well. Jackson has been called the King of Pop; maybe he has created a new kind of music for his generation, just as Elvis did in his own time.
