Technology Inefficient

With the development of society, technology has become a staple in every day life. Technology has progressed so far that it has become a necessary part of every person’s life. No matter what the task, technology can often provide assistance. However, Albert Einstein said: “It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.” While technology has brought convenience to people, at some point, it will eventually provide resistance to the premise of being human. People have become reliant on technology; however, technology can threaten people in different ways, such as bombs, weapons. Also, advancement in medicine and cosmetics has led to a feigned posterity. Therefore, I strongly agree that “In our technologically advanced world, has kindness and goodness diminished?”
Many people rely on technology to save them unnecessary work, even if it costs them their right to express themselves beneficially. In modern society, the general public has acquired basic computer skills. Computers have been used so widely in communication areas that many people do not get any social interaction any more. People are getting used to talk to other on the Internet that computer language appears in our life. If humans use computer language as a communication medium, they will lose a sense of the language they talk. Additionally, they will lose the ability to articulate themselves properly, leading to a forced isolation. Many people have become so accustomed to using brief internet expression to describe some actions in real life that the expressions have begun to appear on the student’s papers. For instance, many students use “brb” to express “be right back,” or “u” instead of “you” on essays.
Technology is not only beneficial, but it can also threaten humanity. Technological advances lead to advances in weaponry, and the nuclear bombs were created. During the World War II, the American army sent two bombs to Japan. This action caused damage and pain many years after it occurred. Many Japanese still suffer from the diseases and disorders which resulted from the bombs. On the other hand, the weapons of today have become more efficient. The war is still going on in the Iraq. The technology that allows the soldiers to fight in Iraq is causing them to lose their humanity. Besides, many Iraq people lost their home and escaped to other countries.
Technology also has a great influence on the medical area. Many medicines and cosmetics have been invented for people; however, those medicines and cosmetics have side effects on people in exchange for beauty. Different kinds of diet medicine appear on the market, and many people attempt to lose weight using those medicines. Those medicines do not help a person to lose weight at all, they are merely laxatives. Also, Cosmetic surgery is becoming more popular in our society. In order to become beautiful, people would rather put something fake in their body. People in our society would rather be beautiful than healthy. They are losing their humanity to surpassing each other.
It is really convenience that people use technology to work on some areas. After Industrial Revolution, machines have substituted hand made. This huge change in the history had a great influence on many factories. More and more products are produced in our society. As consumers, people have more chances to purchase what they want, however, the process of producing products have cause different kinds of pollutions. Many factories directly pour their wastewaters into rivers or oceans without sewage treatment. The living environment of plants and animals was destroyed by those wastewaters. Additionally, the industrial air pollution has a majority effect of globe warming. The result of globe warming is the sea level rises and people lose the place to live.
In our technologically advanced world, many people are so addicted in technology, and become the slaves of technology. Many of our classmates in math class, they get used to use the calculators instead of their brain to work on math problems. However, calculators are not allowed to bring to test today. This example has set alarm to many people that do not rely on technology. Many people should not be lazy to use their brain. In addition, everyone connects with each other in this society. We need to hang out with people and get more experiences from others or life, but not face to our computers all the time. Technology can only be a parts of people’s life, but it is not good to see people become the parts of technology, such as clone.
